There are numerous stories telling the affection of President Kim Il Sung in Mt Kumgang.
When the President gave field guidance to Kangwon Province one day in summer 1973, he asked accompanying officials where Kim Rak Hui was.
After he was informed by an official that Kim Rak Hui was in other place to plant mulberry trees, he said that he let her only work hard until today, and took measures to bring her in order to show her round Mt Kumgang.
At that time officials did not know well why he did her such a favour.
Kim Rak Hui was widely known to the whole country as a pioneer of “The Plowwoman Movement” during the Fatherland Liberation War, and later grew into an official in the field of agriculture thanks to the special care and trust of the President, and worked night and day with all devotion for solving the problem which weighed on his mind.
The President greeted her warmly, who hurriedly arrived at Mt Kumgang, and asked her how she was those days and climbed up the area of Kuryong Pool with her.
He looked at the peaks of Mt Kumgang shining brightly in the morning sunshine, clear water of Singye Stream and graceful valleys. Meanwhile he inquired of her about planting mulberry trees in detail.
And then he kindly told her legends about Mt Kumgang and a story related to Kuryong Pool, saying that he always imagined the beautiful Mt Kumgang during the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle.
After sightseeing, he also prepared a lunch for her. When he saw her overwhelmed with gratitude not to take spoon easily, he told her to be easy to eat freely and put dish before her.
Affection of President Kim Il Sung was as same as the one of real parents, who devoted everything for their children.
When reached a picturesque place, he let her stand beside him and took a photo session with her to be handed down generation after generation.
The President spent the precious time all day for an ordinary woman.
The reason why President Kim Il Sung called her to Mt Kumgang was not merely to show her round the beautiful scenery of Mt Kumgang and let her have a pleasant time.
It was because he firmly believed and expected our officials to have national pride and self-confidence of living in the country with beautiful Mt Kumgang and work harder for the people.
Like this President Kim Il Sung was a benevolent father who implanted the precious value of the fatherland and ardent patriotism in everyone.
